Nokia today announced a new Mobile TV Headset Accessory, the DVB-H. This accessory is all you need to turn your mobile device into a portable television. As long as there’s mobile DVB-H (Digital Video Broadband – Handset) coverage, you can tune into sports events or TV shows and watch them without worrying about an Internet connection. DVB-H is also kinder to your battery life than Web TV solutions. The Mobile TV Headset works with the Nokia N8 and other Symbian^3 devices that come with the USB-on-the-go feature.

DVB-H coverage is still rare in many countries, due to various reasons like Licensing issues or lack of frequency availability, so make sure the service is available before you make your purchase. So far DVB-H is available in the Netherlands, Russia, New Delhi and Helsinki. The DVB-H is expected in Q4 2010 with estimated price of 40 Euros (Indian Rs2350 , US $50).
