WhatsApp for Symbian today got an update to version 2.2.21. This update bring the ability to send and received Multimedia files, If you didn’t knew about this app, WhatsApp is a messaging app which allows you to exchange messages with your friends and contacts without having to pay for SMS. The service uses your internet dataplan (wifi/gprs/edge/3G) to connect to the service and other whatsapp members. The best part is that your phone number is your account, so hence whatsapp is able to go through your phonebook and tell you who else is using the service too.

Opera today announced Opera Mini 5.1 Beta for Symbian 60. Optimized for almost all Series 60 handsets, the Opera Mini 5.1 Beta support Series 60 v2.0 handsets and above. This beta currently only available in English but Opera has stated that multilingual support should be coming out pretty soon.

Another great SMS app for your phone called Free-iSMS, its an iPhone-style SMS chat application for Symbian S60 phones (s60v5 and s60v3). Your messages will displayed in speech bubbles like the image above, it supports drag and drop, and syncing with Nokia’s default SMS manager.
Free-iSMS can also schedule your messages, and send fake messages to your inbox too. The fake messaging option of Free-iSMS works much better than Fake Messages and ActiveFile. Download Free-iSMS v 1.02 from here.
