AppLocker is a nice application for Nokia N900 that available in the Extras repository. With AppLocker you can lock or hide applications on your maemo device in a simple way, so you can hide applications in the menu and all shortcuts on the desktop. To use it, just run AppLocker and type a password then choose the applications to hide.

BlueMaemo is a software developed by Valério Valério to turn your Nokia N900 or the Maemo-powered devices into a mixed Bluetooth keyboard-and-mouse device through the HID Bluetooth profile, for example, turn your Nokia N900 into a remote controller for the PlayStation 3 like the video above.

FBReader is a great application that you can use as e-book reader in your Nokia N900, it supports several open e-book formats and automatically determines encoding. It is also able to automatically generate table of contents and hyphenation.

FBReader v0.10.7 supports the following file formats:
fb2, html, chm, plucker, palmdoc, ztxt, tcr (psion text), rtf, oeb, openreader, non-DRM’ed mobipocket, plain text and reads directly from tar, zip, gzip, bzip2 archives.

Download and Install

You can now install VLC Player in your Nokia N900, just download the application from here, save them, for example, in / home / user / MyDocs:

Opera Mobile 10.1 now is available too for Nokia N900 and you can download this update from the extras-testing repository.

Known issues:

- Adobe Flash and other plugins are not supported.
- Screen tearing may be visible when panning, especially in portrait mode.
- The built-in on-screen keyboard is not supported. Use the physical keyboard or the on screen keyboard included with Opera Mobile.
